Their commitment to industrial innovation ensures they remain at the forefront of environmentally responsible construction practices.

Challenge

Pact Group was fabricating four-meter panels for concrete casting but encountered a challenge.

The forms did not consistently maintain their shape throughout the panel length. This lack of structural integrity led to potential defects, inefficiencies, and increased material wastage. A lightweight, durable, and adaptable solution was needed to maintain the panel’s uniformity while simplifying the casting process.

Specialised Solution

To address the issue, a drop-stitched inflatable void former was selected. This air-filled matrix web provided structural support by maintaining the panel’s dimensions and preventing collapse during curing. Its lightweight and flexible nature made it easy to position before inflation, ensuring seamless integration into the mould cavity. The high-pressure capabilities of the drop-stitched material enabled even pressure distribution, allowing for precise and uniform form shaping. Unlike traditional rigid void formers, this inflatable alternative was reusable, providing cost efficiency by being deployable for multiple castings.

Results

Giant Inflatables Industrial’s approach focuses on collaboration, ensuring solutions stem from problem definition, discussion, and shared expertise. By working closely with clients, they identify challenges, explore options, and refine designs to create customised, high-value products. This personal approach transforms standard inflatables into precise, efficient, and reusable solutions that enhance project outcomes.

This tailor-made solution performed flawlessly, stabilising the formwork while maintaining the necessary dimensions. The success of this application led to additional airbag orders for further projects. By incorporating drop-stitched inflatables, Pact Group improved efficiency, reduced material wastage, and enhanced overall production reliability.
